Jessica Berger Gross is the author of the memoir Estranged: Leaving Family and Finding HomeHer essays have appeared in The New York Times MagazineThe CutLongreads and many other publications. She graduated from Vassar College and has a master’s degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Originally from New York, she lives in Maine with her husband and teenage son. Hazel Says No is her first novel. 

Jessica likes to swim in lakes, lily ponds and the sea, hunt for secondhand clothes, happen upon stoop sales, hike and cross-country ski, practice Iyengar yoga, watch either very good or very bad TV, read lots of books, go out of her way to eat the best pizza, and drink fresh grapefruit juice.
